The British Double-decker bus is famous around the world, and the vehicle you see in these images could be its replacement. This future bus was created as part of the "To-you" public transportation concept, developed by Hugh Frost. Frost's concept managed to win the Low Carbon Urban Mobility Technology Challenge, which was meant to find solutions for limiting the environmental impacts of urban transportation. Called the Freight*Bus, this new vehicle is a multi-tasking passenger and freight carrying bus, which is able to carry goods at off-peak times. Apart from the new British bus, the "To-you" also includes Freight*Lift, which is used for transporting goods and removes the requirement for pallets, the Cool*Run, which is used for transporting multi-temperature products, and the Locker Box and Micro- Hub Network.
The new British bus comes with variable seating capacity, which can be incrementally adjusted dependent on demand.
Frost believes that his new British bus will enable franchisees to increase the number of vehicles they operate. This in turn is going to increase the number of routes, and the frequency of service.
