| Toyota 2008 Engine of the Year Awards | |
| The Japanese manufacturer announced today the two Toyota 2008 Engine of the Year Awards that it has received. The Toyota Hybrid Synergy Drive received the Green Engine of the Year award. The Toyota Hybrid Synergy Drive, used in the Prius, combines a conventional 1.5-litre petrol engine with an electric motor to provide a 65.7 mpg fuel consumption and a 104 g/km CO2 emission level.

| 2008 International Engine of the Year Awards. The results sustain Toyota’s impressive track record in the competition, with a total of 19 titles won since the awards were launched in 1999.
