
Fifth Gear made a comparison between the new Vauxhall VXR8 and its predecessor - the Lotus Carlton. The Vauxhall VXR8 is powered by a V8 engine from a Corvette that develops 411 bhp and 515 Nm of torque. Priced around 35,000 pounds the Vauxhall VXR8 has a top speed of over 170 mph and a 0 to 60 mph acceleration time of under 5 seconds.
The Lotus Carlton was launched back in 1990 and although this was 18 years ago, it has today's performance figures (0-60 mph in 5 seconds and 177 mph top speed).
