Video: Chrysler Drops Huge Aerial Banner

 »  »  »

In a new publicity stunt, Chrysler tried to fly the world's largest aerial banner, advertising its Ram brand. The attempt took place last Friday, at around 7:15 AM at the Dallas Executive Airport. Unfortunately, the helicopter pilot that was flying the huge aerial banner had to hit the emergency release button and drop it.

Chrysler's huge aerial banner, measuring 53,000-square-foot, which is about the size of a professional football field, was advertising the new Dodge Ram pickup truck. The banner was to heavy for the helicopter and had to be set free, otherwise endangering the aircraft and its pilot.

If Chrysler would have made it, it would have been a new world record.
