According to recent rumors, VW is preparing two new version of the latest generation Polo: the Volkswagen Polo GT and the Volkswagen Polo GTD. The Volkswagen Polo GT will be positioned just below the GTI, and it will be powered by the same 1.4 TSI engine. However, the Volkswagen Polo GT will develop 150 hp, instead of the 180 hp of the GTI. The VW Polo GT will benefit from the company's DSG transmission, which offers fast shifting times.
The Volkswagen Polo GTD will take the place of the sporty diesel Polo, with power coming from a 1.6 TDI engine. The Volkswagen Polo GTD is expected to output 130 hp offering a more fuel efficient alternative to the GTI.
The Volkswagen Polo GTD and GT price has not been announced yet, but our sources believe the two new versions will hit the market sometime this year.
