Mercedes and IWC Schaffhausen, a Swiss watch maker, announced recently that they are planning to recreate a world speed record run from 1934. At that time, a Mercedes Silver Arrow W25 broke the world speed record in the Klausenpass pass in Switzerland. The Silver Arrow W25 managed to run a mile (1.6 km) in 30.71 seconds at an average speed of 197.2 mph (317.5 km/h).
