In this new video released by the German sports car maker, the 2013 Porsche Cayenne Turbo S tries to get rid of the "SUV supercar" label, in an attempt to impress the off-road oriented customer. But let's be serious. Who goes to buy a Cayenne Turbo S when in need of a rugged, sturdy 4x4 to go tackle the most treacherous mountain slopes or the Sahara desert? You don't need 550 hp to get to the North Pole, and you definitely don't need a 4.5-seconds 0-62 mph acceleration time to accomplish that. Yes, the Cayenne Turbo S is probably up to the job. But it's too damn expensive to be practical. And off-road people are practical. Porsche built an incredible machine, but in the process, they forgot its intended purpose. If' you're looking for a large 550 horsepower supercar, the 2013 Porsche Cayenne Turbo S is the choice for you. But if you're looking for a 4x4 workhorse, please choose something else. The Cayenne is just too nice to get any mud on it.
