Various sources are reporting today that hackers managed to steal the personal data of around 2 million Honda clients. Apparently, Honda has released a statement saying that the servers of a company which takes care of their data bases have been hacked. Personal data, including e-mail addresses have been lost due to this attack. Honda says it has already informed its customers who were affected by this unfortunate event.

According to recent reports, the stolen information includes addresses, names, phone numbers and even number plates and chassis numbers. The hackers also managed to extract banking account numbers and other such delicate information, which could be used further with malicious purposes.

The electronic attack affected mostly Honda's Japanese clients, but clients from other markets could be affected too.
