2014 Honda NSX

 »  »  »

According to various sources reporting today, the 2014 Honda NSX will actually become a reality, but a hybrid one. Apparently, the future generation of the Honda NSX got held back by the global financial crisis, but it was never pulled off the table. The power of the 2014 Honda NSX will come from a 3.5-liter V6 engine coupled with an electric motor. Some sources speculate that the 2014 Honda NSX will get a 2.4-liter 4-cylinder engine, but we guess this will not be fit for the company's supercar successor. Powered by the V6 engine, the 2014 Honda NSX is expected to output more than 400 hp which will mostly go to the rear wheels. We say mostly because the 2014 Honda NSX will have an AWD drive system, which will send most of the power to the rear wheels.

Honda has previously tested a version of the 2014 NSX with a mid-engine, rear-wheel-drive architecture, but unfortunately it was abandoned. That prototype of the Honda NSX had quite a powerful, 550 hp, V10 engine under its hood.

The current speculations say the 2014 Honda NSX will actually not reach those levels of performance, but it will be quite a serious machine.
