The new Honda NSX Concept, dubbed Acura NSX in the United States, was unveiled these days at the 2012 North American International Auto Show in Detroit. The new NSX measures 4,330 mm in length, 1,895 mm in width, 1,160 mm in height and has a 2,575 mm wheelbase. As its predecessor, the new NSX has a mid-engine architecture, carrying a V6 engine at its heart. The new Honda NSX is equipped with the innovative Sport Hybrid SH-AWD (Super Handling All Wheel Drive) hybrid system. With the mid-engine AWD architecture, the new NSX promises to deliver outstanding levels of handling and high cornering speeds.

This new hybrid system which will equip the new Honda / Acura NSX features a 2 Electric Motor Drive Unit with a bilateral torque adjustable control system.

This new system can generate negative or positive torque to the front wheels during cornering. Honda claims that this new system will deliver handling performance unmatched by previous AWD systems. The new Honda NSX will also come with a dual clutch transmission to ensure fast shifting times. The new NSX's transmission will feature an electric motor, which, Honda says, will deliver "supercar acceleration".

These are the only technical details of the new NSX released by Honda so far.

Expect more in the following months. The Japanese carmaker says that the new Acura / Honda NSX will go on sale in the next three years, after being developed in Honda R&D Americas, Inc., and manufactured in Ohio. Currently, there are no details regarding its price.
