Talking to the British press at the IAA in Frankfurt, Vincent Besson revealed a number of 2011 Citroen C4 details. The 2011 Citroen C4 will be launched towards the end of the next year and will be lighter, will emit less CO2 and will offer a better fuel economy. The 2011 Citroen C4 is very likely to be offered with a hybrid system based on a gasoline engine and will probably feature in its engine line-up a 3-cylinder unit.
Besson also said the 2011 Citroen C4 will not be the only model to be offered as a hybrid. the company also plans to manufacture a Citroen C5 hybrid in the future.
Citroen however, will not offer the petrol electric hybrid solution of the 2011 Citroen C4 on small, city oriented models. Besson believes this is not an economically viable idea. Instead, for small city vehicle Citroen will build a model based on Mitsubishi's i-MIEV.
