Why not? Although no official information regarding a possible 2011 Volkswagen Jetta R has been released yet, a performance version of the new sedan is not entirely out of the question. The new 2011 Volkswagen Jetta has just been unveiled yesterday and will go on sale towards the end of the year.
VW has recently announced the launch of their new performance division, called R, out of which the Golf R and the Scirocco R have already seen the light of day. This means the 2011 Volkswagen Jetta R could also hit the market someday.
If the 2011 Volkswagen Jetta R will become a reality, it would probably be powered by the same 2.0 TSI four-cylinder turbo engine, found on the
golf and the Scirocco. This means the 2011 Volkswagen Jetta R will develop around 270 PS and 350 Nm of torque. The top speed of the 2011 Volkswagen Jetta R will be limited to 250 km/h, but it could accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in little over 5.5 seconds. The 2011 Volkswagen Jetta R will have the 7-speed DSG gearbox, a new aerodynamics package and LED daytime running lights. The interior of the 2011 Volkswagen Jetta R will also have various new accents in comparison to the standard version. It will also be blue, obviously.
We'll have more details on the 2011 Volkswagen Jetta R if the company decides to put it in its plans.
