2012 Mercedes ML63 AMG Update

 »  »  »

New details of the next generation 2012 Mercedes ML63 AMG surfaced the web today, together with a new video of the future ML Class. Unfortunately, the video shows a heavily camouflaged prototype of the 2012 Mercedes ML, so its new styling cues are still a mystery. Merc's 2012 ML Class will be available with gasoline and diesel engines, including a 300 hp 3.5-liter V6 and a 4.4-liter twin turbocharged V8. The 2012 ML will come with a Start / Stop system which will improve its fuel economy and Mercedes is expected to sell it with their 4Matic four-wheel-drive system. Various sources are reporting that the 2012 Mercedes ML will also be made available with a 3.0-liter diesel engine with an output of more than 250 hp.

As far as the new 2012 Mercedes ML63 AMG goes,

we have confirmation that it will sport the same 5.5-liter bi-turbo V8 engine as the 2011 S63 AMG. If this will be the case, it means the 2012 ML63 AMG will develop 420 kW (571 hp) at 5500 rpm and 900 Nm of torque between 2250 and 3750 rpm. This could translate into a 0 to 62 mph (100 km/h) acceleration time of less than 5 seconds.

We'll have more updated details on the 2012 Mercedes ML63 AMG as soon they're available. Meanwhile, watch the new 2012 ML Class spy video lower down this page.
