Nissan unveiled today at the 2012 Chicago Auto show the new Pathfinder concept, which previews the 2013MY version of the Japanese 4x4. The 4th generation of the Nissan Pathfinder will have its premiere this autumn, but its price list has not been announced yet. For the 2013 Pathfinder, Nissan designed a new exterior and made several improvements to its interior. The 3-row/7-passenger SUV comes with an innovative child seat, an around view monitor and a tri-zone entertainment system. Nissan has upgraded the interior of the Pathfinder to offer more comfort and an enhanced premium feel. The 4x4 now features heated front and 2nd row of seats, a power tilt and telescoping steering wheel, Push Button Start and a Bose Audio System with 13 speakers.

To increase the cargo space offered by the 2013 Pathfinder, Nissan built the 2nd and 3rd row of seats so they would fold completely. The 60/40-split 2nd row has a special feature, which allows it to move forward and give access to the third row, without removing the child seat. Some of the luxuries offered inside the 2013 Nissan Pathfinder include a Navigation System, a RearView Monitor, Bluetooth connectivity, tri-zone climate control, iPod integration and headrest-mounted DVD display screens mounted on the 2nd row of seats. The 2013 Pathfinder also comes with the same Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) with individual tire pressure display and EasyFill Tire Assist as the Nissan Quest.

For the exterior of the 2013 Pathfinder, Nissan chose a more aerodynamics design, which will reduce the SUV's fuel consumption. The 2013 Pathfinder comes with new front and rear spoilers, rear tire deflectors and rear suspension fairings. Another interesting feature of the 2013 Pathfinder is its panoramic dual-panel moonroof, which features a sliding opening front panel and a fixed rear one.

Even though the exact details of the 2013 Pathfinder's engine have not been revealed, Nissan does disclose a few facts. It will be a V6 mated to a Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT), which will offer a 25% improvement in fuel economy.
