The world debut of the new generation 2014 Audi A3 Cabrio is going to take place tomorrow, during the opening of the 2013 Frankfurt International Auto Show (IAA). In comparison to the previous generation of the convertible, the 2014 Audi A3 Cabriolet is longer and wider, it has a longer wheelbase and a lower height. According to Audi's official specifications, the 2014 A3 Cabrio measures 14.50 ft (4.42 m) in length, 5.87 ft (1.79 m) in width, and it has a 0.59 in (15 mm) lower height. Its wheelbase measures 8.53 ft (2.60 m). The luggage capacity of the 2014 A3 Cabriolet has been increased by 2.12 cubic ft (60 liters) in comparison to the previous generation of the convertible. This means it has a 10.14 cubic ft (287 liters) boot. The 2014 Audi A3 convertible weighs 3009.31 lb (1,365 kg), which is 110.23 lb (50 kg) less than the previous generation of the cabriolet.
In terms of exterior design changes, the new Audi A3 Cabrio (2014) comes with a Singleframe radiator grille, re-styled flat LED headlights, a new front bumper. The rear of the new Audi A3 Cabriolet (2014) has also been redesigned.
The new A3 Cabrio (2014) is equipped with a fabric soft top and a lightweight kinematic mechanism made of magnesium-steel. The roof can be operated at speeds of up to 31.07 mph (50 km/h) and it requires just 18 seconds to open or close. Audi is going to sell the new A3 Cabriolet (2014) with an optional wind deflector and head-level heating. Audi also equips the 2014 A3 convertible with an active rollover protection system.
At the interior, the new Audi A3 convertible (2014) comes equipped with a re-styled instrument panel and center console, folding rear seats, a new electro-mechanical parking brake, and cloth, leather or Alcantara/leather upholstery options.
As far as safety systems go, the new A3 Convertible (2014) offers the attention assist system, adaptive cruise control, side assist, lane assist, camera-based traffic sign recognition, park assist with selective display, and the pre sense safety system. The 2013 A4 Cabrio is going to be sold with a Bang & Olufsen sound system and MMI Navigation plus, a 7-inch monitor, and a WLAN hotspot.

The 2014 A3 Cabrio will be sold with 16- to 19- inch alloys, and a 15 mm lowered sport suspension, (25 millimeters (0.98 in) lower in the S-Line version).
The 2014 Audi A3 Cabrio is powered by a 2.0 TFSI that's good for 221 kW (300 hp) and 380 Nm (280.27 lb-ft) of torque. The engine of the 2014 S3 Cabrio is mated to a six-speed S tronic transmission and it can accelerate the small hot convertible from zero to 62 mph (100 km/h) in 5.4 seconds. The fuel economy of the 2013 S3 cabriolet is rated at 33.13 US mpg / 39.8 UK mpg (7.1 liters per 100 kilometers). The new S3 cabrio (2014) comes equipped with a 25 millimeters (0.98 in) lowered suspension, 17-inch brakes, 18- or 19-inch wheels, progressive steering, the Audi magnetic ride and the quattro all-wheel-drive system.
