The 2014 Chevrolet SS had its world debut last weekend, during the opening of the Daytona 500 at the Daytona International Speedway. Chevrolet premiered its NASCAR version too during the same event. The new Chevy SS (2014) is powered by a LS3 6.2-liter V8 engine that puts out 415 hp and 415 lb-ft of torque. The engine of the 2014 Chevy SS is mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission that comes with steering wheel mounted TAPshift paddle shifters. The 2014 SS has a 3.27 final-drive ratio and Chevrolet says that it can accelerate from zero to 62 mph in around 5 seconds. Its top speed has not been announced yet. Chevrolet equips the new SS (2014) as standard with a MacPherson strut front suspensions and a multilink independent rear one.

The 2014 SS comes with Brembo brakes, with ventilated, 355-mm discs and 4-piston calipers, and 19-inch alloys with Bridgestone tires. With a rear-wheel-drive system and a 50/50 weight distribution, the 2014 Chevrolet SS should handle quite well. To get the perfect weight distribution, Chevrolet gave the 2014 SS an aluminum hood and boot lid.

The 2014 Chevrolet SS promises 42 inches of front legroom, and 39 inches of rear legroom. Its equipment list includes eight-way power adjustable front bucket seats, blue ambient lighting, HID headlights, LED DRLs, a Bose 9-speaker sound system and a color heads-up display.

The safety systems offered with the 2014 SS include Forward Collision Alert, Lane Departure Warning, Side Blind Zone Alert, and Automatic Parking Assist. The price and availability of the 2014 Chevrolet SS are going to be announced at a later date.
