The aftermarket specialists from Hennessey take the Chevrolet SS to the extreme with a new power kit that offers an amazing 1,000 bhp at 6,300 rpm. Hennessey's HPE1000 Twin Turbo power kit for the Chevrolet SS includes a 427 cid LSX engine, with forged low compression pistons, forged steel connecting rods and a Callies 4340 forged steel crank. Hennessey's power pack for the SS also includes ARP main studs and head bolts, CNC ported cylinder heads, an upgraded valvetrain and a custom HPE camshaft. There is also a FAST LSX intake manifold. The SS' fuel injectors and fuel system have been upgraded too. The Hennessey Chevrolet SS is fitted with twin ball bearing turbos, dual wastegates, an electronic boost controller, an air-to-air intercooler, and a high-flow K&N air filter.
Hennessey remapped the Chevy SS' ECU and gave it a bespoke stainless steel exhaust system. For the 6-speed manual transmission version of the Chevrolet SS, Hennessey is going to install a Centerforce dual friction clutch, and for the automatic model they're going to offer a performance build and a torque converter.
Hennessey is also offering various optional extras for their version of the Chevrolet SS, which include suspension, brakes, transmission and driveline upgrades. There are also various carbon fiber trim parts available, as well as Alcantara steering wheel, and various interior styling parts. Hennessey did not disclose the price of their HPE1000 power kit for the Chevrolet SS.
