In one of the latest episodes of Fifth Gear, race car driver and TV presenter Tiff Needell puts the Chevrolet Camaro SS against its archrival, the Dodge Challenger SRT8. The Chevrolet Camaro SS is available with one of two engines: an L99 and the LS3. The most powerful version of the Chevrolet Camaro SS, the LS3, develops 426 hp and 569 Nm of torque, while the L99 has 400 hp and 556 Nm of torque. The Chevrolet Camaro SS price starts at 30,995 USD. On the other hand, the Dodge Challenger SRT8 is powered by a 6.1 liter Hemi engine developing 425 hp. so, the Chevrolet Camaro SS and the Dodge Challenger SRT8 are quite evenly matched in terms of power output. The difference will probably be made by handling and weight.
