Actor Daniel Craig, yes, 007, revealed today in New York the much awaited 2014 Range Rover Sport. With a new interior and exterior design, improved technology and better efficiency, the new Range Rover Sport (2014) promises to be the world's best all-terrain performer. Just like its sibling, the Sport version of the 2014 Range Rover underwent a massive weight saving program. It's lost 420kg in comparison to the previous generation. This translates into improved performance, a 15% cut in CO2 emissions, and improved fuel economy. The carmaker says that the 2014 Range Rover Sport is the "fastest, the most agile and the most responsive Land Rover ever". There's no point in lingering about its design, since the images do all talking. The new Range Rover Sport (2014) comes with several other novelties, including a 5+2 seating option, and a lightweight aluminum architecture.

Land Rover is going to make the 2014 Range Rover Sport available with several engine options, including a 4.4-litre 339PS SDV8 diesel, a 3.0-litre 258PS TDV6, a 3.0-litre 292PS SDV6 and of course, the supercharged 5.0-litre 510PS V8 petrol unit. Apparently, the supercharged version of the new Range Rover Sport (2014) is able to get from zero to 60 mph in just 5 seconds. All versions of the SUV come with an electronically controlled ZF 8HP70 8-speed automatic gearbox. Range Rover says that in the future, they might offer a 4-cylinder version of the SUV, which is going to weigh just 2000kg. That's 500 kg less than the previous lightest model.

The 2014 Range Rover Sport also introduces a diesel Hybrid version which emits just 169g/km of CO2. All versions come with a Stop/Start system which improves fuel consumption by up to 7 percent.

The 2014 Range Rover Sport comes with a fully-independent lightweight aluminum suspension, with double-wishbones at the front and a multi-link layout at the rear. It has a 260mm front and 272mm rear wheel-travel, and a 546mm wheel articulation. It has a maximum ground clearance of 278mm (+51mm) and an air suspension system that's able to vary automatically between two ride heights. Range Rover equips the 2014 Sport with the Terrain Response 2 system and a choice between two full-time 4WD systems. One offers a two-speed transfer case with low-range option and the other a single-speed transfer case with a Torsen differential.

When designing the 2014 Sport's interior, Range Rover aimed to combine the Sports Command Driving Position (CDP) of its bigger brother with the sportier position offered by the Evoque. The new version of the SUV comes with a smaller diameter, thicker steering wheel, a vertical gear shifter, a higher center console, configurable mood lighting and more generous seat bolsters.

2014 Range Rover Sport Equipment:

- Adaptive Dynamics: continuously variable dampers (CVD), a dedicated Dynamic mode in the Terrain Response 2 system for the more powerful models, twin-channel Dynamic Response active lean control, a Dynamic Active Rear Locking Differential, and Torque Vectoring by Braking
- connectivity package: Stolen Vehicle Tracking, Emergency Call, Land Rover Assist Call, Wi-Fi Hotspot
- color Head-Up Display
- Lane Departure Warning
- Traffic Sign Recognition
- Automatic High Beam Assist
