Audi reveals today a new concept from their e-tron range, the A3 e-tron. Audi's new e-tron is based on the Sportback version of the A3 and is powered by an electric motor developing a maximum of 100 kW (136 hp) and 270 Nm of torque. The motor of the new Audi A3 e-tron weighs around 65 kilograms and is able to offer 60 kW (82 hp) of continuous power. The power of the Audi's A3 e-tron is sent to the front wheels via a single gear transmission.

The juice the motor, the Audi A3 e-tron uses lithium-ion batteries stored in the floor of the luggage compartment and under the rear seats. The battery weighs 300 kilograms, stores 26.5 kWh of energy and has 380 volts. Even though part of the trunk is occupied by the battery,

the Audi A3 e-tron still offers 265 liters of luggage space.

Audi says the A3 e-tron has a range of 140 km, is able to accelerate from 0 to 62 mph (100 km/h) in 11.2 seconds and has a top speed of 145 mph. The Audi A3 e-tron lets you select from three driving modes, dynamic, auto and efficiency. In the dynamic mode, the Audi A3 e-tron works at full power, but the range is diminished, while in the efficiency mode, you'll get the maximum range.



On a regular, 230V socket, the Audi A3 e-tron requires nine hours to fully recharge, however, on a 400V one, it will only need four hours.
