Axeon, a company that specializes in electric energy, revealed today a new Land Rover Defender EV, called the Electric Game Viewer Concept. Axeon's Land Rover Defender EV is an electric car designed specifically for the game park sector, meant to minimize the impact of off-road vehicles on the environment. This electric Land Rover Defender is powered by an air cooled AC induction motor developing 59kW and 330 Nm of torque and has 10kW of regenerative power. Axeon's Land Rover Defender stores the electricity it requires in a lithium phosphate battery with a 27kW-hr capacity.

Axeon says their Land Rover Defender EV has a range of up to 80 km, and a reserve of 20 km. when used for hunting, the Axeon Defender can be used for an up to 8 hour game drive.

Axeon's Defender is a true off-road vehicle, featuring a permanent 4WD system with a differential lock.

Axeon launched the electric Land Rover Defender last week-end in Durban, South Africa, but they did not disclose its price yet.
