The Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA) presents four BMW Art Cars designed by Andy Warhol, Frank Stella, Roy Lichtenstein, and Robert Rauschenberg. The exhibition opens today and will be there until February 24.
The BMW Art Cars are part of a project originally conceived by the French racecar driver Herve Poulain. The idea was to invite an artist to use the car as a canvas. Since the beginning some of the artists that created BMW Art Cars include David Hockney (1995), Jenny Holzer (1999), and Olafur Eliasson among others. In total there are 16 BMW Art Cars.
