BMW Zagato Coupe

At this year's Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este, BMW revealed one of their most beautiful concepts, which is called the Zagato Coupe. The new concept is probably based on the Z4, but it was re-designed by the coachbuilders from Zagato. BMW did not disclose any technical details regarding the Zagato Coupe, which it usually means it's just a design concept. When developing the new Coupe, BMW and Zagato settled on a realistic design, which should work well both on public roads and on the track. This could be an indication that BMW is considering putting it into production, or at least use some of its design features on production vehicles. Even though the BMW Zagato Coupe was designed on the computer, the Bavarian carmaker says it was built entirely by hand.

The BMW Zagato Coupe was developed to be "Vmax concept", which is a road legal vehicle, that can reach very high top speeds. The front of the Zagato Coupe is all BMW, but the rear of the concept is totally different story. Except for the BMW badge, the rear section of the Coupe concept is all Zagato. The air vents integrated into the bonnet and front bumper and the muscular wheel arches are meant to make the Z4 look more aggressive and to inspire power and confidence. The unusual rear-end design of the BMW Zagato Coupe, which is called Kamm Tail, is meant to reduce wind resistance and to increase the car's top speed.

The interior of the BMW Zagato Coupe has also been re-styled, in comparison to the Z4. The general elements were kept, but the materials and various accents received the Italian touch.

The BMW Zagato Coupe is no longer a German precision tool, but a rolling piece of art, built for speed and agility.
