The first Ferrari 599 Roadster info has been revealed today by the company's big boss, Luca di Montezemolo, while talking to the British press. Apparently, the open-top Ferrari 599 Roadster, as it was called by Montezemolo, will be launched at the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance in august. However, the Ferrari 599 Roadster will be a limited edition model and is expected to have a hard-top.
The Ferrari 599 Roadster will be powered by the same V12 engine as the regular version, developing 612 hp. The Prancing Horse could increase this power output to make up for the extra weight added inherently to the open top versions.
The Ferrari 599 Roadster will also have a new, more "romantic" name, as Montezemolo described it. Somewhere in the region of "Italia" or "Fiorano".
Apart from the new regarding the Ferrari 599 Roadster, the company's big boss also confirmed the Scuderia version of the 458 Italia. The Ferrari 458 Italia Scuderia will be launched at a later, bot specified moment.
