Ferrari announced today that they're going to auction one of the 599XX Evo berlinettas to support the victims of the earthquake that shook their Italian home province earlier this week. Because of this unfortunate event, yesterday, the Ferrari, Maserati and Ducati factories in Modena had to close their gates. The 599XX Evo is one of the most extreme vehicles ever built by Ferrari. It can be used on the racetrack only, and each one has a commercial value of 1.3 million Euro. The Ferrari 599XX Evo is used as a testbed for the company's Research and Development activities, which also include Formula 1 work. Ferrari says that the 599XX Evo they're going to auction comes with a set of performance-enhancing technical features, which are prepared for the 2012-2013 seasons.

This is a chance to help the families of the victims of both earthquakes that rocked the Emilia-Romagna region since the 20th of May, and to get a first-hand experience with one of the best pieces of automotive technology of the moment.
