Ferrari revealed today the details of the updated 2013 California, which will have its world debut in Geneva next month. Visually, the Ferrari California 2013 is not that different in comparison to the current version, however, it does come with a few extra horsepowers and little less weight. The 4.3 -liter V8 engine of the 2013 California now delivers 490 hp and 505 Nm of torque at 5,000 rpm. This is 30 hp more than the current model, while 2013 California is 30 kg lighter. The extra umpf of the new California is given by a re-mapped ECU and newly designed exhaust manifolds. Let's say Ferrari did a little bit of tuning, as the torque curve has also been modified. The 2013 Ferrari California is rated with a 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) acceleration time of 3.8 seconds.

For the 2013 California, Ferrari is offering a new Handling Speciale package, which includes various suspension upgrades. The ECU that controls the Magnetorheological dampers has been improved, and now offers 50% faster response times. The Handling Speciale also includes stiffer springs and a new steering box with a 10% quicker steering ratio. This package also gives the California smaller steering wheel angles.

As you would expect, Ferrari's 2013 California offers new color choices, together with various new interior trims. The price and availability of the new California will be announced at a later date.
