The 2013 Ford Escape was premiered today at the debut of the 2011 LA Auto Show. With the fresh and aggressive design, together with updated engines, Ford's 2013 Escape hopes to take the SUV market by storm. The 2013 Escape will be launched next year, but its price list has not been announced yet. In terms of design the 2013 Ford Escape shows various elements inspired by the new Focus, the most obvious one being the front bumper. The headlights, front grille and rear fascia of the Ford Escape have also been re-designed for the 2013 model year version. The new Escape is 10% more aerodynamic than its predecessor, which helps reduce its fuel consumption, and in turn, its CO2 emissions.

For the interior of the 2013 Escape, Ford promises higher levels of craftsmanship.

Everything goes soft with the new Escape. Its instrument panel has a soft-touch feel, the armrests are now padded, and the SUV will be available with leather seats. The 2013 Ford Escape will be available with SYNC, the upgraded MyFord Touch and various assist systems. These include a parking assist system, a rear view camera, and the Blind Spot Information System (BLIS) with cross-traffic alert. Ford's 2013 Escape also offers Bluetooth and USB connectivity, satellite navigation and an 8-inch screen in the center stack.



In terms of cargo space, the 2013 Ford Escape offers 68.1 cubic feet of space behind the first row of seats, and 34.3 cubic feet of space behind the second row.

For the 2013 Escape, Ford is offering various options in terms of engines. The new Escape will be available with either a 2.0-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder (237 hp and 250 lb.-ft. of torque) or a 1.6-liter EcoBoost engine (173 hp and 177 lb.-ft. of torque). The 2013 Ford Escape continues to be available with the 2.5-liter engine, which has been upgrade to offer improved fuel efficiency and reduced CO2 emissions.

All versions of the 2013 Escape will be sold with a six-speed Ford SelectShift Automatic transmission. The Intelligent 4WD System (the all-wheel-drive system) of the 2013 Escape has been updated and now uses 25 external signals for deciding which wheels should have the most power.

Ford's 2013 Escape brings a novelty in terms of safety with its Adaptive Airbag Technology. It also features new safety belt technologies, seven airbags, and the Safety Canopy System.

Apart from the United States, the 2013 Ford Escape will also go on sale in Europe and China. However, on these markets, the new Escape will be available under the 2013 Ford Kuga name. The 2013 Ford Kuga will have its world debut at the Geneva Motor Show in March and it will offer a choice of different engines than the Escape.
