Ford RS160 WRC Rally Car

Designer Ken Nagasaka revealed recently his vision of a future Ford WRC (World Rally Championship) car, which he likes to call the RS160. Judging from the rally car's name, it will be powered by a turbocharged 1.6-liter 4-cylinder engine. The Ford RS160 WRC is going to come with a sequential transmission and an all-wheel-drive system. Ken Nagasaka imagined a rather unusual architecture for a rally car. The Ford RS160 has its engine mounted in the middle. The RS160 has a coupe body style, which is also unusual, since most rally cars are hatchbacks these days. The Ford RS160 WRC comes with extremely optimized aerodynamics that user every available surface to create downforce, including the wheels. To get inspiration for the body of the Ford RS160, Ken used a Nike shoe, a bicycle helmet, and a few other interesting objects.

Unfortunately, Ken did not disclose an awful lot of details about his Ford RS160 WRC rally car.
