Honda revealed recently the new 2014 Accord Hybrid, which will go on sale in October. The new 2014 Honda Accord Hybrid is powered by a 2.0-liter DOHC i-VTEC Atkinson-cycle 4-cylinder engine, which works together with an electric motor that's good for an additional 124 kW. The Accord Hybrid is able to run in three different modes. In EV Drive, which is used at lower speeds, it runs on electricity only, which is provided by the lithium-ion battery. It can only run in Hybrid Drive and Engine Drive. Honda expects that the Hybrid Accord is going to offer a 49 mpg fuel economy in the city, a 45 mpg fuel consumption on the highway, and a 47 mpg EPA fuel economy in the combined cycle. The distinctive design features of the Accord Hybrid include blue-accented grille and light lenses, LED DRLS, newly designed wheels, a decklid spoiler and various badges.

Honda equips the new Hybrid Accord (2014) with the an 8-inch color i-MID display, a leather upholstery, the cloud-based HondaLink system featuring Aha compatibility, multi-angle rearview camera with guidelines, a 7-speaker audio system and Bluetooth connectivity. As far as safety systems go, the new Accord Hybrid comes with the LaneWatch blind-spot display, Lane Departure Warning (LDW) and Forward Collision Warning (FCW), and SmartVent front-side airbags.

The Honda Accord Hybrid's price is going to be announced at a later date.
