Hyundai revealed the new HCD-14 Genesis concept at the 2013 NAIAS (North American International Auto Show) in Detroit. The HCD-14 concept previews the future generation of the Hyundai Genesis sedan, which hopes to enter the premium rear-wheel-drive segment. The Hyundai HCD-14 Genesis showcases a fluidic-precision, liquid-metal design language and it features a coupe-lie profile. One of its interesting design elements includes the heat extractor accents, which are incorporated into the rear hood. At the interior, the HCD-14 Genesis features a driver-centric cockpit that's styled with design in mind, rather than infotainment button overload. For the interior of the HCD-14 Genesis, Hyundai uses such materials as laminated and milled-wood.

The Hyundai HCD-14 Genesis comes with a rear-hinged rear doors, however, we doubt that this features is going to make it into production. The driver of the future Genesis is going to look at both analog and digital gauges and at an asymmetrical center stack. The car's center console features an iPad tablet storage station. The HCD-14 Genesis comes with Hyundai latest technology, which includes driver eye-tracking and 3-D hand-gesture recognition. The hand-gesture recognition system can be used to control the navigation, infotainment, audio, HVAC, and smartphone connectivity functions. The HCD-14 Genesis is also equipped with a windshield heads-up display.

The equipment list of the HCD-14 Genesis includes a five-link front and rear suspension, multi-mode power steering, low-profile performance tires, and a yaw-control system. To power, the HCD-14 Genesis, Hyundai chooses the 5.0-liter Tau V8 engine that features direct injection and Dual Continuously Variable Valve Timing (D-CVVT). The engine is mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission.
