LEXUS TOPS 13TH J.D. POWER SURVEY

Lexus has topped the annual J.D. Power and Associates Vehicle Dependability Survey in the US for the 13th year running, with Buick joining the luxury marque in the top spot.

The study, which measures problems per 100 vehicles (PP100), saw the two car makers record a PP100 score of 145 - 71 points better than the industry average.

Lexus scored a maximum five out of five in all four categories: overall dependability, powertrain, body and interior, and features and accessories dependability.

The 2007 results saw six Lexus vehicles - the LX 470, GX 470, LS 430, SC 430, GS 300 and GS 430

models - top their respective vehicle categories.

The study also found that vehicle models with strong dependability ratings may retain up to 15 per cent more of their value at the time of resale after three years.

Lexus Australia chief executive John Roca said that Lexus' thirteenth consecutive J.D. Power award only reinforces the company's commitment to quality luxury motoring.

"Quality products have always been a Lexus

hallmark - Lexus is fortunate enough to be in the position where we are regarded as the industry standard," he said.

"Lexus does not just represent outstanding quality and reliability - It's our customer service that really sets us apart.

"The fact that three of the top five positions were taken by non-premium marques demonstrates that

quality is not necessarily something you can purchase - but something that is ingrained in the vehicle," Mr Roca said.
