Lexus revealed today the IS-F CCS-R - a racecar that is going to be used for this year's Pikes Peak International Hill Climb race. The Lexus IS F CCS-R features countless modifications, meant to make it faster in this unforgiving competition. It comes with a carbon fiber body and polycarbonate windows, which reduce the weight of the vehicle by 314kg. The power of the IS F CCS-R comes from a 2UR-GSE 5.0-litre V8 engine that puts out 311kW (416 hp) at 6,600rpm and 371 lb.-ft. (505Nm) of torque at 5,200 rpm. The performance figures have not been disclosed. Apart from the light body and the powerful engine, the Pikes Peak IS F also comes with a reinforced monocoque chassis and roll cage, and racing brakes, suspension and exhaust system. To send the power to the rear wheels, the IS-F CCS-R uses an 8-speed Sport Direct Shift automatic gearbox, with paddle shifters.
At the interior, everything is made from carbon fiber, but there's not much going on here. They stripped the IS F of everything, except the dashboard and center console. They gave it in return a HANS compatible full bucket seat, a 6-point seat belt, and a small steering wheel.
