The Maserati GranCabrio MC had its world debut yesterday in Paris, creating an even more extreme version of the luxury convertible. The Maserati GranCabrio MC is inspired by the Trofeo MC World Series and the GT4 version. The new GranCabrio MC aims to offer elegance, style, sportiness and dynamism all in a single package. Maserati's GranCabrio MC is 48 millimeters longer than the other two versions of the model, and its better optimized aerodynamically. Thanks to its new body kit, the GranCabrio MC generates 10% more downforce at the front and 25% more at the rear in comparison to the standard and Sport versions. These figures were measured at 140 km/h. Apart from the obvious styling changes, we have to mention the new headlights with integrated LED DRLs, and the Adaptive Light Control system.
Also to increase downforce, Maserati gave the GranCabrio MC a larger rear spoiler.
For the interior of the GranCabrio MC, Maserati developed new seats, which are now available in carbon fiber. Thanks to the new seats, the rear passengers now have 20 mm more legroom. The GranCabrio MC also comes with a new steering wheel, with a flattened top and bottom, and aluminum pedals.

The Maserati GranCabrio MC is powered by a 4.7-litre V8 engine, which puts out 338 kW (460 HP) and 520 Nm of torque at 4,750 rpm. With the help of a 6-speed MC Auto Shift ZF transmission, this engine can accelerate the GranCabrio MC from nought to 62 mph (100 km/h) in 4.9 seconds and to take it up to a top speed of 289 km/h (179 mph). The GranCabrio MC's gearbox offers five driving modes: Auto-Normal, Auto-Sport, Manual-Normal, Manual-Sport and Ice modes. It also comes with automatic blipping when downshifting and a Launch Control function. To be able to stop safely, Maserati sells the GranCabrio MC with a set of Brembo brakes with 360×32 mm discs at the front and 330×28 mm ones at the rear.
The Maserati GranCabrio MC's price has not been disclosed yet.
