The first images of the final design of the Melkus RS2000 have been released at the beginning of this week. the company says the Melkus RS2000 will become available in November and that 25 units will be handmade each year. One of the key design features of the Melkus RS2000 are the roof mounted doors which swing only a few centimeters outside the car.
The design of the Melkus RS2000 is reminiscent of the classic GT cars from LeMans and offers very good aerodynamic qualities. The Melkus RS2000 has a closed underbody which, together with the front lip and rear diffuser, offers excellent downforce.
The Melkus RS2000 features an aluminum chassis with a carbon fiber and fiber-glass body and weighs less than 1,000 pounds. For safety, the chassis of the Melkus RS2000 has a monocoque architecture and the car benefits from a carbon Crashbox and roll bars.
The Melkus RS2000 price has not been made public yet.
