Flying car becomes reality

 »  »  »

The dream of a flying car was here since the beginning of the automotive industry, and recently Terrafugia made it a reality. The Terrafugia Transition flying car made its historical first flight on the March 5th, 2009 at the Plattsburgh International Airport in Plattsburgh, NY. Although the Terrafugia Transition flying car is just a "Proof of Concept" at the moment - our congratulations to CEO Carl Dietrich and his team.

The Terrafugia Transition is front wheel drive, while on the ground, it has automated electromechanical folding wings and offers a 30 mpg fuel economy. It also has room for your skis, fishing poles or golf clubs.

The company expects that the production version of the Terrafugia Transition price will be in the region of $194,000.
