Daimler AG announced today that it has signed a memorandum with the government of the Republic of Iraq in which it emphasizes its willingness to support the economic revival of Iraq. The Mercedes - Iraq memorandum was signed in the presence of Michael Glos, German Federal Minister for Economic Affairs.
Paramount in the process of Iraq's revival is the provision of transport capacity (trucks and buses) and also the provision of the required technical expertise. The two sides will together appoint a group of experts that will identify the market requirements as well as the financial, legal, and organizational possibilities.
As part of the Daimler's corporate responsibility activities, it has already started a training center in Iraq in the middle of February 2008.
