The Mini Countryman has just been launched and apparently, BMW is working on a Mini 7 Seat SUV. It's not clear at the moment whether or not the new Mini 7 seat SUV will have the same platform as the Countryman, but a company official stated it will have a 2.70 meters wheelbase. The new Mini Countryman Plus, as the British press is calling it, will obviously try to steal some sales from the Nissan Qashqai+2.

These new details of the new Mini Countryman Plus 7 Seat SUV have been confirmed by the brand's head of management, Dr. Wolfgang Armbrech. At this moment, there are no further details regarding the engine or gearbox options offered by the future Mini 7 Seat SUV.

Apart from the new Mini 7 Seat SUV details, the same source says the company is working on the production version of the Beachcomber concept. They took this decision because of the immense interest the new concept received after its unveiling. As far as the production version's name goes, most believe Mini will revive the Moke moniker.

We'll have more details on the Mini Countryman Plus 7 Seat SUV as well as on the Moke as soon as they become available.
