So far, the most powerful version of the Mitsubishi Evo X was the British FQ400 version, which has 400 hp. Today the Brits have announced the Mitsubishi Evo X FQ440 MR special edition, which develops 440 hp. According to Mitsubishi's official specifications, the 2.0-liter 4-cylinder turbocharged engine of the Evo X FQ440 develops 440bhp at 6,800rpm and 412 lb.ft. of torque at 3,100rpm. To get the extra power, the Evo FQ440 comes with a re-mapped ECU, a more potent HKS turbo, and a Janspeed exhaust system with a high-flow sports catalytic convertor. The FQ440 is also equipped with an intake and intercooler piping kit together with a tubular manifold, both of them developed by Janspeed too. The FQ440's specs also include motorsport grade high-flow fuel injectors.
Being the MR version, the FQ440 is equipped with the 6-speed twin clutch Sports Shift Transmission (SST). What's interesting is that in the case of the FQ440, Mitsubishi replaced the Brembo brakes with Alcon ones. They include 6-piston mono-block front calipers with floating disc and bell assembly and a rear caliper with floating disc and bell assembly. The FQ440 comes with a lowered suspension system (35mm front, 30 mm rear), Eibach coil springs.
The Mitsubishi Evo X FQ440 MR's equipment list includes Keyless Operation System (KOS) with push button start, CAT 1 approved alarm immobilizer, 18-inch BBS alloys, Bi-xenon headlights with adaptive front-lighting system (AFS), fog lights, and PIAA motorsport silicone windscreen wiper blades.
For the interior of the Evo X FQ440, Mitsubishi is offering Recaro branded leather bucket seats, a leather sports steering wheel with audio and cruise controls, the SD Card based Navigation system with a 7-inch LCD touch screen, Bluetooth handsfree and the Rockford Fosgate premium audio system. The Evo X FQ440 is also fitted with an on-board diagnostic (OBD) system.
The Mitsubishi Evo X FQ440's price is set at £50,000 GBP OTR and it will be available in Frost White only.
