Mitsuoka announced that it will premiere the Mitsuoka Viewt facelift at this year's Tokyo Auto Show. The Mitsuoka Viewt facelift is the successor of the retro-styled sedan that had its debut in 1993. Based on the Nissan Micra, the Mitsuoka Viewt facelift needed a new version in order to comply with the new safety regulations in Japan. Japan is the one of the main markets for the Mitsuoka Viewt facelift, although the previous version, is also on sale in the UK.

The Mitsuoka Viewt facelift is powered by small engines and is aimed at city usage. The units under the hood of the Mitsuoka Viewt facelift include a 1.2-liter with 90 bhp, a 1.4-liter with 97 bhp and a 1.5-liter with 109 hp. The Mitsuoka Viewt facelift is available in two trim levels, ST and LX and offers a choice between a 4-speed automatic, a 5-speed manual and a CVT gearbox. The Mitsuoka Viewt facelift is front-wheel-drive, but the 1.4-liter 4AT is also available with 4WD.
