Max Mosley stated today that he will stand down as FIA president when his four-year term ends in October this year. After months of battle against sex scandals and the Formula One Teams Association (FOTA) Mosley said in a letter he will not run for his fifth term as FIA president, although he has received over 100 messages from FIA member clubs to re-think his decision. Mosley motivated his decision by saying that going for another term will complicate his domestic life too much.

By leaving FIA, Mosley makes way for a new arrangement between FIA and the Formula One Teams Association regarding the structure, governance and regulation of F1.

Max Mosley also said that he supports Jean Todt, the big boss at the Ferrari team, to be his replacement.
