Nokian Tires have announced recently that they have broken the world ice speed record using an Audi RS6. The Nokian Audi RS6 broke the world ice speed record and set a new one at 331,610 km/h (206,05 mph). The attempt which resulted in a new ice top speed record took place on the Gulf of Bothnia in Oulu, in Finland. The previous record was set by Bentley with a Continental Supersports Convertible a little less than a month ago. Juha Kankkunen managed to get the modified Bentley Supersports convertible up to a top speed of 199.83 mph (321.6 km/h) on the frozen waters of the Baltic sea.

The Nokian Audi RS6 was driven to a new ice world speed record by test driver Janne Laitinen on March 6th on a 14-kilometre ice track in freezing

conditions. The Audi RS6 used for the attempt is equipped with Nokian Hakkapeliitta 7 studded tires (255/35R20 97 T XL).

It's a bit difficult to get wrap your head around 320 km/h. The Nokian Audi RS6 was covering more than 92 meters per second while driving at top speed. At these types of high revs, the tiers of the Nokian Audi RS6 increased in diameter by up to 15–20 mm.
