Up until this morning, the fastest production car on the Nurburgring Nordschleife was the Ferrari 599XX. Unfortunately for the Prancing Horse, the Pagani Zonda R Nurburgring record set this morning was below 599xx's time. The Pagani Zonda R is the new fastest production car on the Nurburgring with a record time of 6:47 seconds. This is 11.16 seconds faster than the Ferrari, which at this level of the competition, is quite a lot.
The Pagani Zonda R Nurburgring record was set on bespoke P-Zero tires developed by Pirelli. This could raise some eyebrows. However, the rest of the Pagani Zonda R unit used to set the lap time is completely standard, or so claims the manufacturer.
The Pagani Zonda R is powered by a 6.0 liter V12 engine from AMG that develops 750 hp and 710 Nm of torque. The top speed of the Pagani Zonda R is rated at 350 km/h and the manufacturer says it can top 60 mph in 2.7 seconds.
If you think about getting one and go set a new lap record on the Nurburgring, the price of the car starts at 1.460.000 Euros
