Porsche BorgWarner AWD tech
BorgWarner and Porsche teamed up to develop a new AWD clutch and control system. This new AWD system is intended to equip several Porsche sports cars.

Earlier Borg Warner supplied the Variable Turbine Geometry ( VTG ) blowers for the Porsche 911 Turbo.

This new BorgWarner AWD coupling system will be the first production unit of its type to feature an active Gerotor pump plus efficient cooling systems and control algorithms.

The new BorgWarner AWD system will be based on an electromagnetic multiple disk clutch. It consists of a three speed coupling unit with a primary clutch, a closing force amplifier and an actively
cooled secondary clutch. The new BorgWarner AWD system will feature a third friction element will allow it to handle up to 800Nm of torque.
