Range Rover has released today the first details of the new Range Rover hybrid, called the Range_e. The Range Rover hybrid will have its world debut at the Geneva motors how next month, as a prototype. However, there are strong signals that hybrid Range Rover Range_e will be for sale as a production version. The Range Rover hybrid is powered by a diesel hybrid plug-in powertrain and this is where the official details stop. Not really... they also said that the Range Rover Range_e will offer a 89 g/km CO2 emissions level. Can you even imagine a Range Rover producing less than 90 g/km of CO2?
The Range Rover hybrid has under its hood the 3.0-litre TDV6 diesel engine, taken off the Sport model, which has been mated to the eight-speed
ZF automatic transmission. The Range Rover hybrid also has a plug-in parallel diesel hybrid system, that enables the Range_e to also run on electricity only. And it also has all-wheel-drive.
The Range Rover hybrid has a range of up to 20 miles on electricity only, a top speed of 120 mph and a total range of up to 690 miles.
Additional details regarding the hybrid Range Rover Range_e will be announced at the time of its Geneva premiere.
