Road Legal Mini WRC

 »  »  »

Various news outlets are reporting today that Mini Cooper is working on developing a road legal Mini WRC in the near future. Mini Cooper is essentially looking to do with its Mini Countryman WRC rally car the same thing Mitsubishi and Subaru do with the Evo and the STI. The road legal Mini WRC Countryman will have the same All4 all-wheel-drive system, probably a stiffer suspension than the current versions and bigger brakes.

The road legal Mini WRC Countryman might get the same 1.6-litre, four-cylinder Di turbo-charged engine as the rally car. However, the engine of the road legal Mini WRC, will probably get a slightly smaller turbo. The one in the Mini WRC is good for 2.5 Bar.

Currently, Mini Cooper has neither confirmed or denied the road legal Mini WRC, so we might just see one for sale in the near future. If we're lucky, we might be able to find road legal Mini WRC for sale for under the 40,000 EUR price tag, is it will ever be a reality.

We'll have more details on the road legal Mini WRC Countryman as soon as they're available.
