Seat revealed today the new Leon SC (2014), which is going to be premiered at the beginning of March at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show. The SC Leon has several distinctive features in comparison to the regular version of the model. The Leon SC (Sports Coupe) has only three doors, instead of five, and it has a 35 mm shorter wheelbase. Even so, Seat claims that the rear headroom and boot space of the Leon SC are the same as the ones of the five-door model. The Seat Leon SC is a three-door hatchback measuring 4.23 meters in length, that promises to offer 380 liters of boot space. Seat says that the Leon SC will come with an infotainment system, intelligent driver assistance systems, a lower weight and a chassis tuned to offer the best compromise between sportiness and comfort.

The Seat Leon SC is going to be offered in three trim levels (S, SE and FR) and with a choice between various petrol and diesel engines. The most efficient version of the Leon SC is powered by the 1.6 TDI engine (74.3 mpg combined fuel economy, 99 g/km CO2 emissions) that comes with Start/Stop and Energy Recovery. There's also a 2.0 TDI with 150 PS and 320 Nm of torque that promises 68.9 mpg and 106 g/km CO2 emissions.

The petrol range of the SC Leon includes a 1.2 TSI (105 PS) with a 57.6mpg fuel consumption, and a 1.4 TSI (140 PS and 250 Nm) that's also fitted with Start/Stop and Energy Recovery. The Leon SC 1.4 TSI comes with a 54.3 mpg fuel consumption and a 119 g/km CO2 emissions level. The most powerful version of the Leon SC is the 1.8 TSI, which outputs 180 PS and 250 Nm of torque. Seat is going to sell the Leon SC with either a five-speed manual transmission, or a 6-speed manual or a DSG dual-clutch automatic gearbox.

The Seat Leon SC's price and availability are going to be announced at a later date.
