The latest reports say that the Japanese manufacturer will begin the production of a Subaru Impreza coupe in 2010. The new model will enter the market as a rival for the Nissan 350Z and the BMW 3-Series Coupe. The styling of the new Subaru Impreza coupe will be based on the current five-door hatch, but it will feature certain design elements to make it stand out from the crowd.
According to AutoExpress the new Subaru Impreza coupe will be powered by the 2.0-litre engine or the 2.5 liter unit from the current Impreza STI.
The British magazine also believes that the AWD system will be replaced with a lighter rear-wheel-drive system.
