Toyota Chief Test Driver Dies In Lexus LFA Crash

According to various reports, the Toyota chief test driver was involved into a serious crash while driving the Lexus LFA, which resulted in his death. The 67-year-old Toyota chief test driver Hiromu Naruse was driving a Lexus LFA Nurburgring Edition prototype on a road near the Nurburgring race track when he suddenly veered into oncoming traffic. His Lexus LFA collided head-on into a BMW prototype carrying two test drivers from the German company. Hiromu Naruse died a s a result of the impact.

On the other side, both passengers of the BMW prototype survived the crash, but unfortunately, one of them is still in critical condition. The German press has released a video showing the aftermath of the crash involving Toyota's chief test driver.

Hiromu Naruse is considered by the LFA's fans to be the "Godfather of the LFA" as he was extremely involved in the development of the Japanese supercar. The prototype Lexus LFA Nurburgring Edition he was driving at the time of the event is worth around 1.5 million EUR.
