Fiat surprised us all this week, by briefly showing their new 500-based crossover, which is called the 500X. During the launch of the 500L, which is small SUV/MPV, the Italian carmaker showed for a brief moment the Fiat 500X concept. The Fiat 500X is expected to have its official premiere towards the end of this year, and to go on sale sometime in 2013. Some sources believe we'll have to wait a bit longer for the 500X, which could come as late as 2014. As far as the engine options go, the 500X will probably get the same attention as the 500L. This means that fiat will sell the 500X with either a 1.4-litre petrol engine, or a 1.3 MultiJet II diesel one. In terms of dimensions, the 500X seems to be larger than the 500L and also a bit taller. We'll have more details about the Fiat 500X as soon as they're available.
