The new Fiat 500e (2013), which is the electric version of the popular 500, is going to have its world debut at the 2012 Los Angeles auto show. The Fiat 500e is powered by an electric motor, which is good for 111 horsepower (83 kW) and 147 lb-ft of torque that gets its "juice" from a 24 kWh hour liquid-cooled/heated lithium-ion battery. Fiat says that on a full charge of the battery, the 500e has a maximum range of 100 miles when driving in the city. Fiat's 500e is equipped with regenerative braking, a push-button e-shift transmission, and 15-inch Firestone Firehawk GT low-rolling-resistance tires. Fiat says that you can fully recharge your 500e from a 240-Volt outlet in less than 4 hours.

At the interior, Fiat equipped the 500e with a 7-inch instrument cluster that includes the Electronic Vehicle Information Center (EVIC). The EVIC displays the speedometer, trip computer, the power gauge and other information. Fiat is offering an iPhone / Android app that can offer the vehicle’s status, lets you manage the charging of the vehicle, and other functions.

The Fiat 500e comes with heated seats, BLUE&ME Handsfree Communication, SiriusXM Radio, and an Alpine sound system. Its safety equipment list includes seven airbags, Bi-halogen headlights and LED DRLs, an audible pedestrian warning system, active head restraints, ESC and a park assist system.
